hoot hoot... baby boy's ΧΩ shower!

welcome to baby boy's shower hosted at the beautiful Detroy home.

Emma is guessing the baby's birth weight and time.
prizes are owl earrings and an owl ring :)

with Detroy + Bricker, my amazingly awesome hostesses

in college, Detroy headed up the 'banner committee.' we made all of our Chi O banners in the laundry room of our sorority house and therefore renamed it the "banner room." this is where the girls made adorable onesies for our little man!

this is me pretending i'll be totally in control of the birth time. i want to win the owl ring! :)

with my mom :) she'll be coming to hawaii a few days before our baby's due date!!

the chi o owl was well represented ~ this boy is the 1st chi o baby and he got lots of adorable owl gifts to welcome him! also, next to me is a growing pile of books ~ the theme was "stock the library" and our little guy got TONS of awesome children's books. we actually just got them all in the mail yesterday, and Elliott and I had a blast looking through each one.
thank you! xoxo

group picture (the moms were taking the pics). a big thank you to everyone who was able to come to the shower and to everyone else who sent such thoughtful gifts for our baby!

the food was, of course, pretty and creative... based on our sorority house food from college! "salad bar," mini corndogs, grilled cheese + tomato soup, jimmy john's sandwiches, and yummy cake.
the girls also gathered items for a time capsule for our little boy (for him to open when he's older, maybe 18). they had lots of pictures, Elliott's + my facebook pages printed, magazines, newspapers, an iTunes top 10 songs CD, a Justin Beiber poster, a Butler Bulldogs keychain, an Obama biography, and lots of other fun things to mark this year.

  1. Your shower looks so fun! I love the painting onsie idea, and again, the time capsule was a great idea! He will appreciate getting to see all of those things when he's older!!! Your blog is just so cute! Can't wait to see pictures of the nursery, and life in hawaii! :D
